Description

People can be forced, coerced, threatened or tricked into marrying someone without their informed consent. Forced marriage is a form of exploitation in the trafficking process. Victims are taken from their homes to a different city, region or country to live with their ‘husbands’. They are then expected or pressured to manage domestic tasks. This report details IOM X’s Forced Marriage Campaign which addresses the trend of young women being trafficked for forced marriage. This report can be used as inspiration to inform your own research or campaign to promote safe migration messages and to prevent forced marriage.
